I also use developer's edition on my laptop. To create a new database or make changes to a production MSDE or SQL Server machine, I use XCase Professional. This is the closest thing to one of the great features of SDT I have seen. The one thing XCase does not propagate for you which I wish it did is the security related parts of the database.
