Well stated ... Help bury a decent technology if it means a few extra $ (EPS) .... (Probably why MS bought FOX out in the first place ... would have killed the Access market).

I would disagree if I thought .NET was "better", but it is not ...

Then again, I do think the "VFP Team's" quality of code could be better ... Fabio is exposing what I have constantly been "working around"; it's time to stop accepting this as part of the status quo. Frankly, I would have hoped for a more solid platform than all the energy that seems to be going into "inteli-nonsense", etc.

>Hello Marcus,
>
>I think you are missing the point,
>Most of us already know that VFP has a limited life, as do all programming languages. The fox has already outlived the vast majority of development languages, in part because of dedicated and enthusiastic community (people like you and me?) Others have moved on to Linux/.NET/Java/Etc for their own reasons which is fine, everyone's needs are different.
>
>What I see as the issue is:
>You guys have assembled a whole team of people who were highly regarded (and highly visible) in the VFP community. You then put together a site that is primarily focused on converting VFP jobs to .NET; basically telling the world this is the direction we are moving, and you should be too (with your help, at a price) Since you guys are some of the most reconized names in VFP, outsiders will see this as a vote of no confidence in VFP and use that fact to beat us over the head when we try to sell VFP.
>
>The main gripe I have is that there are already too few VFP jobs left, but you have decided to go after that market?? If .NET is so great, sells itself, is in great demand DO YOU REALLY NEED TO CANABALIZE THE REMAINING VFP JOBS? You should easily be able to find tons of other work.
