Hi Claudio,

I have used zonealarm in the past and if you don't install it on every workstation I think you lose the outgoing block functionality.

Your proxy software probably has a firewall of it's own, so your slowdown could be caused by having two firewalls in place. I currently am using WinProxy at work and at home and with it's firewall and antivirus I have had zero problems with trojans, worms, virus etc. Steve Gibson at Gibson Research http://www.grc.com has free software that you can use to test your firewall.
