The issue is could I use Intellisense in the Editbox where the user can enter all the abbreviation and expanded phrases.

VFP 9 has the capability to use IntelliSense in the memo fields in your application, but not in an edit box - only in a memo editing window. You should download the public beta and check it out.

Alternatively, Andy and I wrote a Kitbox column in FoxTalk - I think it will be out in July's edition - about a class to do auto-complete edit boxes. This technique works in version 8.
