Ken Levy quite clearly wrote a few months ago in another thread that any discussion about the subject can only hurt. I do not recall his exact words.

I dont think MS have said to not discuss future versions. MS can choose to comment or not on any discussion but to say we should not discuss it for fear of somehow hurting the product seems absurd.
