>I have created a new visual source safe project. I joined the project from within Visual FoxPro and I am getting all the files that belong to this project. The issue here is that one of the prgs doesn't have the sign in or sign out flag right beside it. It seems like this file is not part of the source safe project (despite of the fact that it is brought in by joining the source safe project). When I recompile my project, I get an error saying that this file does not exist. Any clues on what could be happening?

Heya Carlos -
sometimes VSS is quite picky about file locations.
IF you are using a standard subdirectory structure like
project_name
project_name/prgs
project_name/classes
project_name/reports

etc
and your program file in question does NOT live off in one of those two areas ? VSS will sometimes drop it from the meta project list. It will still exist in VFP as an attached file in the project manager, but the sticky bit for VSS won't attach.

I would suggest you delete the file in the project manager,
move the file to a 'proscribed location'
add the file in the vfp project manager pointing to the new location
then rebuild all [this will force an addition in VSS]

hth - mondo regards [Bill]
