Well Craig, thought you would like to know .....

The user friendliness of some messages ! What had happened is that our in-house standard form calls a debug form when specific types of errors occur, and that debug form had been accidentally moved out of our Forms directory. Instead of displaying a message to the effect that "Form so and so cannot be found" (as it does for report forms where it says "Report XXXX - Undefined"), the App builder was instead spewing out "Cannot update the cursor (Error 111)". Unbelievable !

============== Your original message follows ==================
>Hi,

>Suddenly, when trying to build APPs or EXEs, I am now getting a "Cannot update the cursor
(Error 111)" error.
>
>Pressing the HELP button on the message box gives : "You have attempted to write to a file that
was created or accessed for read-only purposes."

>Has anyone come across this problem before ?

Sounds like you included the DBFs in the EXE when you build it. Go back into the project and
make sure the dbfs, dbc, etc are excluded.
