But your interpretation beats a straw man. That's an American expression; it means you're setting up an argument the way you want to set it up <s>.

I never said that the goal was to "replace the old preview".

I said that the goal was to give you the tools you need to do anything you want as a preview, for example you can build one right into a form along with your other controls. And I said that the effort was successful, because the effort (to meet *THIS* goal, not the one you stated) *WAS* successful.

To your specific points (about negative numbers or whatever)... for goodness sakes, Peter, it's VFP code. Change the preview container to whatever you want it to say, and use whatever numbers you want <s>. I'd like to see you do that in Word <s>.

Yes, of course VFPT can go down the hall and talk to the Word team. But more than a few creative and expert MS Word gurus would be *drooling* to have the chance to build their own preview with a couple of vb macros and customize it the way they want.

Maybe the Word team should traipse down the hall and talk to the VFPT team, instead .
