Hi Wayne

At the time I was using VFP5 and then VFP6 and ran into alot of bugs. It was then that I basically stopped using grids and switched to list boxes which I still use today. So I began investigating other programming environments.

WinDev seemed to me to be a more encomapssing software environment because it had a better report writer, UML, built in deployment and maintenance features, help generation, client server, royalty free deployment, access to many different backend databases, web features, the default hyperfile database engine is not limited to 2Gb file size, regression testing, multi-lingual etc. These were some of the reasons I thought it worth considering at the time.

Regards,
Simon

>Sorry Simon... I guess something got lost in the translation - it looked like you were saying that this product could be a substitute for VFP. You did not make any statement about the fact that this could be something used as an alternative to .NET, etc in the event that VFP is phased out.

>>I was not trying to advocate for a switch. I was simply sharing information about another product that I thought might interest VFP programmers. I am always looking at what is "out there" and thought I would pass along some of my discoveries for the benefit of others. I have discovered a number of interesting products that I now use because someone mentioned it here on the UT and I followed up the link.
