That said, if I want to work directly with 5gb of data in a table, in that case, it is not so much that SQL Server is more data-centric than VFP. You don't need to get that far in the analysis. Rather, it is impossible to do in VFP...

The ability to overload is nice. That said, just because you choose not to take advantage of that feature, that does not make the environment less productive.

The command window is nice. If there is one thing in VFP that is handy, it is that. Of course, one could argue that query analyzer in SQL Server is really - just a big command window.
