Hello folks,

Probably a simple thing, but I'm not accustomed to using Access or ODBC.

Managment want an app developed in MS Access which should share info from an FPW2.6 app.

Linking via ODBC from MS Access is trivial (using the Visual Foxpro Database -- Free table) ODBC driver.

However, I'd like to be able to make this table read-only, so that changes can only be made via the FPW application, which does audit trailing etc. Also I'm very dubious about the way the FPW26 and ODBC record locking may or may not work together during editing.

Is there an easy way of doing this in MS Access? Or would this be best done at OS level by user-permissions? Any advice welcome...
