The new Report Writer is open to the point I believe third-parties add-ons will flourish to take advantage of this. The old Report was mostly a black box (apart from the .frx dbf format).
For example, I expected a support for printing RTF memo field with Stretch on Overflow. There is none, but it is now possible to write code to do this and include it in the rendering process of the new Report Writer.

Why would you want to ? Office 97/2000/XP formats are compatible so it shouldn't be an issue.
