That's an excellent approach, Gunnar. And leveraging the Xbase Preview component is a good thing to do.

My aim was just to show people how to do a preview *without* going through the shipping Xbase Preview component, so they could see what the base/product API looked like <s>.

IOW, people have been talking about the preview API without being able to separate what was mandated by what VFP provides, and what happens to be in the Xbase preview, so I wanted to try to separate them a bit.

But your idea is good!
