I wouldn't call it a conspiracy theory, I'd call it at guess at Microsoft's business plans. They do have plans. Have you ever known Microsoft to do something major that isn't extremely calculated?

That said, I think there's a lot more reasons to buy my interpretation, and I think the evidence is already coming in for it, though it won't be obvious for a couple more years.
