I did some searches on here, and checked some code samples in two ASP.NET books that I have.

In general, the samples I found loop through the controls that are of type 'textbox', and set the text...and then in a submit/save button, loop through the textbox controls again, and read the text properties to help build an update statement.

Unless anyone knows of a better way, that's the best I can find.
