Steph,

No pageframes, but plenty of grids. I do see a performance degradation on the grids, but within the acceptable range. If what I have heard here is true, then there could be a huge performanace hit on pageframes, but since we don't currently have any apps with them in them, I can't confirm or deny this statement.

How do other applications run over these same lines? Obviously this is a tough statement to answer, since most often the only other applications are Word and Excel (which don't really count for much when trying to compare performance). Do they have any other non VFP data types of applications that you could test out over the 56K line. We have seen problems, and most often they come down to the routers, but when we do see problems, we see it across all data types of applications.

The problem with Word is that once it's loaded, it's pretty much loaded, and screen changes are really limited when they happen. Sometimes, a screen change can be slow because it's taking Word a long time to load up the data into the screen. It's real hard to tell if you're getting poor performance with it.

If other apps are running fine over the same line, then it may be due to the pageframes and grids, or a combination of them. Then, I guess I don't have any help for you...

Sorry,

Rod
