I downloaded and installed SP2 on my Windows XP Pro workstation. Using the workstation to host a SQL Database caused problems (Clients could not get to it in the basic default applied by the fire wall). Opening the firewall for the UPD port and TCP port allowed clients to get to it ok.

On the other side, with a new install of the XPSP2 on a different workstation, I connect to a standard SQL Server (running on windows 2000 server) without any problems on the client side (the client was my vfp app). So right now, I think as long as the database is not running (such as MSDE) on a windows XP SP2 workstation, then it won't be much of a problem.

Oh yea, those linked provided by MS (and I'm a MS lover) sucked.
