Ok. My solution is only partly workable. If you do the steps I described in my earlier message, everything appears good. But when you exit and start VFP again, the reference to the Beautify.app reappears in the Options dialog. The Beautify option on the Tools menu is still disabled, and will remain disabled until you click the "Save as default" button in the Options dialog. So, in short, once you eliminate the reference to Beautify.app, you can never click the "Save as default" button again with out elimanating the reference each time.

Is this a bug or a feature?

If you can it would suggest you go with my first suggestion of blanking the _BEAUTIFY varaible. You may be able to do this in the Config.FPW.
