I don't understand. Why not report it as a bug? Its not that the behavior is different from the old writer, it is that the behavior is not consistant in the new engine.

You don't need an FRX to repo it. In the Public Beta go to Report Wizard and create a report from Northwind with the Employee table and add the employeeid to the report. It will show **** as the employeeid in the detail band.

The answer to "why not report it as a bug" is because I think this one is already fixed <s>. "No need to report" is a common response to avoid somebody going to the trouble of creating steps to repro if it is a duplicate of a known issue. If you want to go ahead, please do go ahead <s>.

OTOH, you *will* need to do the work to provide steps to repro. I don't understand what your instructions (above) are supposed to prove. The Wizard has not been adjusted to account for the changes between GDI+ and GDI in terms of sizes of the fields it creates so... what are you driving at? As another known issue I don't think that Quick Report has been adjusted either.
