Claude,
FWIW, I was finally able to get this working by moving the virtual directory one level deeper in IIS. Instead of referencing the app as
http://localhost/casearches/default.asp
, it's now referenced as
http://localhost/caintranet/casearches/default.asp
and the images now resolve properly from the "assets" directory.
