>SET VENT OFF

That means it's my turn. <g>

SET VENT ON
You refuse to use the tool they've SPECIFICALLY told you is the most effective tool because it doesn't auto-email you back? You have only yourself to blame for bugs that go unfixed.
SET VENT OFF

It's really very simple, Jim. If you care enough about an issue to want it fixed, SUBMIT IT WHERE IT COUNTS. Venting on public message boards may make YOU feel better, but it's a lot like whining about politicians even though you personally haven't voted in the last 20 years.

I'll tell you a very true story. I was chatting with one of the Fox team one day at a conference (you go to those, yes?) and I casually referenced one of those bugs that "everyone" knows about and she said "what? I've never heard of that? HOW COME NOBODY EVER REPORTED IT?" The community had been discussing it and explaining it away online for a while, but it had NEVER BEEN REPORTED.

You can mention it here and perhaps someone may notice it, and perhaps someone will remember it well enough to enter it into the system (the same system the bug reporting link John posted automatically posts into), and then again they may not. They're human. If you want it in the queue, they've given you a direct link into that queue. If you don't put it there, don't whine about it not getting fixed. You had a chance to have influence and refused to use it.

As for feedback, if having a bug number makes you feel better, here I'll give you one of mine: YAG666. (It's an oldie but a goodie.) A bug number is about all the feedback you'd get as a beta tester.
