If I'm not mistaken, VFP's dbf header format is different from previous versions of FPs, and therefore, it is no longer compatible with other xBase languages. Besides, VFP is longer considered as an xBase language but a RAD tool although its native language was originated from xBases. I would strongly advise you to totally migrate into VFP for you to be able to catch-up with IT software development. As I've heard a lot of developers worldwide Clipper is already left behind.
