I will have a good look at READ/CLEAR EVENTS - I must admit, I have not looked closely at these so I may be missing something. However, Gene Berger's response to your previous posting is correct. I was referring to previous apps having the files open. Michelle said that she was running the exe from the FoxPro command line, in which case the user may have files open prior to calling the exe - my suggestion was to ensure that these files were reinstated at the end of the exe.
