Once VFP has handed the write operation off to the O/S I don't think a C05 in VFP will keep the data from getting to the disk. If VFP hasn't gotten a chance to do a write before it tanks then you are out of luck.
The overall guiding principle while running beta software is expect it to crash when you least expect it so save your work accordingly.
