>The makers of Trillian (Cerulean Studios) posted a new release within about 4 hours of Yahoo's evil actions. The two of them have gone at this before...Yahoo keeps making changes...then a couple of hours later Cerulean Studios has found a way back in. The Yahoo spokeswoman says it's to keep the spim (IM version of spam) down...but of course there is no spim problem on yahoo messenger to begin with - its just that Yahoo wants people using their CPU/Memory-eatting banner-ad-filled client so more people see their stupid advertisements. Anyway over the next week or so Yahoo will update their protocol, then Cerulean Studios will make the necessary adjustments to Trillian - this will last a week or two then Yahoo will quit messing with it until the next time they feel like beating up on the little guys.
No surprise that Yahoo wants to keep their ads in front of as many eye balls as they can. I've pretty much just learned to ignore ALL online advertising, so it's becoming quite ineffective on me. If I can't ignore it, or it's too much of a bother, I just let Google tool bar block most of it anyways.
