EDT = "Eastern Daylight Time"
(Eastern USA, that is)

From October to April, you will see: "EST" which is Eastern Standard Time.

There is also CDT (Central Daylight Time)
and CST (Central Standard Time)

and the same for Mountain Time, and Pacific Time, for the US
