Bill,
I'm very greatful to Sally for hosting AVFP applications. I'm also concerned that people understand the AVFP architecture properly - sorry if that comes across as an attack.
For the record, AVFP installs no ISAPI extension .dll(and is not FOXISAPI in any shape or form). AVFP uses the existing asp.dll, the same dll that runs regular ASP applications. The same applies to AVFP .NET web applications - AVFP uses the existing ASP.NET dll(I forget the name of it), the same one that runs regular ASP.NET web apps. Now if she's referring to the VFP mtdlls(not ISAPI dlls), that's another matter and probably a more likely topic of performance/memory issues. The end-point being that a server farm that's hosting regular ASP applications is 50% there as far as being ready to host AVFP web apps.
I only bring these things up to clarify the architecture to Sally and anyone else that may be listening, not because I'm trying to be critical of Sally in any way. HTH...

>you're both right .
>Sally sees it from a throughput / memory usage / dll instantiation standpoint, throwing 'ISAPI' as the memory hog of choice, to include things that require 'Execute' Permission.

>You see it from a different perspective, albeit a process convention that goes BACK to the concept of utilizing something on the machine in the same fashion, from an accounting standpoint, that ISAPI does.

>FYI - when I say 'accounting' here - I'm talking of resource utilization solely. Sure -there are ways to share_ the AVFP instance - but Sally hasn't stumbled onto them yet. NOT HER FAULT - she took the default as provided by John Jones outta Kuala Lampur, Malaysia [about 120 miles from Sing, btw] and SHE is trying to go forth. She's made more progress in her server farm than any other WebHosting Firm in the short span o time, so at least back off and be [as the AUTHOR of AVFP] a resource to her OFFLINE from the UT.

>IT in Singapore is much more advanced than it is in the USA [not opinion, but fact] . Sally knows w_t_f she is doing, Reza , alas does not.
