BIG5 was what I had guessed, Patrick.

Well, it will display well (I think -- please try it) if you use a font that supports this script and set the report appropriately.

In the Report Designer, set your DESCS field to use Arial Unicode MS, 8, N, 136. I think 134 will work too.

If you preview it, be sure to use SET REPORTB 90, because it won't look right in old-style, but it will in new-style output. Tip: you should be able to press Esc and view just the first couple of pages in Prevew, if you like, and verify.

Then be sure to SAVE the report and run it to OBJECT TYPE 5 for HTML. (Yes, you won't see the Summary in your version.)

Please let me know if you see the right results for your Chinese Big5 characters.

As far as PDF goes, which PDF method do you use?
I think it should be correct, assuming the HTML shows as expected. But this might be dependent on how the PDF is generated, so let's find out <s>.
