In most cases, desktop security is all that mom and pop need (if that). The security issues is a ruze, unless of course, we do what MS and JB want us to, and develop software that turns the desktop into an appliance (dumb terminal) for the internet.
10 % of the market has security issues - they need big clunky client server configurations. I wonder if there would be any security issues if they were not using MS operating systems and IE.
The rest of the world could care less. Mom and Pop know how to protect themselves - don't put your data on an internet server - don't download stuff and refrain from using IE!
