Fair enough...can you refer to the specific message ID or IDs where John said 'only po-dunk work is done in VFP'. I realize I could probably do a search, but since you've quoted him directly, I'm assuming you have specific messages in mind.

I want to read it before I make any comment. I may or may not be able to explain, but I'll certainly be happy to offer my opinion. I certainly would not say that any statement made by John (or anyone else) is inherently true simply because of # of fans, # of publications, etc.

And not that you specifically brought this up...just because I'm a big supporter of John's doesn't mean I agree with him 100% of the time. My own personal opinion is that VFP will probably have a little longer life, partly because of all the VFP apps that are being maintained by companies who have limited $$$ and time for training on new technologies, but need to grow their apps to meet client expectations, vertical market pressures, etc.

But most of the time when I see things differently from him, it's more on margin than on principle. I fully agree with him that the downward trends regarding VFP exceed any upward ones.
