Great; I think you will like it.
You might use a mixed approach - tables in some cases, views in others. I do this.
OTOH, some frameworks - CodeBook, I think, is one - use views on principle - this makes it easy to change from DBF data to a database server, should the need arise.
I suggest you do NOT change your entire approach immediately, but start thinking about the alternatives; and, if you have some time, do some experiments.
