I have a heap of SQL that was written by other team members that is being ported to VFP8 from VFP7. However much of the SQL fails in VFP8 where it does not in VFP7. Most often when the developer uses pre-ansi92 joins in the where clause. These can be fixed however I fail to see the reason why it is necessary. In addition, and a more bothersome issue is that perfectly legal GROUP BY clause in VFP7 are giving me a 'missing or invalid group by' error in VFP8.

Can anyone tell me why SQL Statements that work perfectly in VFP7 no longer work in VFP8?

Is there a white paper describing SQL syntax changes in VFP8?
