For what it's worth, I have just finished a VFP SQL Server project (16 months) that involved a 7 GB database. It was one of the best projects ever managed by our company (ie. fixed price and profitable). As the lead developer, I can say we never had a difficulty we couldn't overcome and development was smooth and quick. It would have taken twice the time to do the same thing in VB. I can say the VFP is an absolutely superb client-server development tool that can provide excellent results in a reasonable amount of time. Our clients are extremely happy and would no doubt agree.

It is real world results that will matter in the end. VFP has a much better profile in our company now, which is a good thing. We are very heavy into MS products and one of the guys here is also an MS employee of some sort being the MS Regional Director for Western Canada (I'm not sure what he does but he has excellent contacts).

Success stories more than anything will give VFP a place in the market.
