I think that's not true, I'm the first one to admit that using API and use low level functionality it is a pain in VFP and you'd better choose a better equipped language like Delphi, VB, C/C++ and even .NET, if you want to make extensive use of that. In the same line you cannot or should not want to build device drivers or graphical tools in a language like VFP.

But when it comes to writing database applications for a living, VFP might suit you better than anything else.
