It is no longer the schools responsibility to teach, its the parent's to make sure the kids learn. Best thing we could do is outlaw the NEA and force the tachers to teach.

I am married to a Teacher and after moving to the U.S. had to wait several months for the INS (now dept. of homeland security) to issue a work permit – during that wait I was not allowed to work so volunteered in the classroom. This ‘coal-face’ experience was extremely enlightening. I am just wondering what position you speak from.
