I am attempting to show a gif file in a vfp image control, in vfp 6.
My client sent me a word document with word art in it. I used 'save as web page in word'. This ended up creating 5 separate gif's.

When I open one of these gif's in the form designer, vfp6 exits. In vfp7 I get a c5 error. Other gif's open properly.

When I save the 5 gif's as bmp files then, they open in vfp.

It seems as if word created an invalid gif file that vfp crashes on. But the gifs are viewable in windows explorer or internet explorer.

I think I read some posts on here about validating graphics files, and vfp having a problem with this?

Does MS Word have a known problem with the'save as web page' option. Is that the culprit?
