I've traced the problem to the CANCEL command I've issued in my shutdown procedure, and have tried replacing cancel with RETURN TO MASTER, but to no avail ... a very frustrating problem indeed ... No problem. I didn't take your reply as abrupt. I know there are some cases where things like this are just really stubborn. I've got one case where I can't get a long SQL Select to show the progress bar, regardless of the setting of SET TALK and SET NOTIFY.
