I presume you already know about the concept of READ EVENTS, CLEAR EVENTS, otherwise, you will not understand what I mean. Issuing CLEAR ALL, CLOSE ALL after READ EVENTS does not close necessary files at run time, it is only upon the termination of the Apps using CLEAR EVENTS. Now, if the programmer/user wants that files remain open then so be it, do not issue CLEAR ALL, CLOSE ALL after READ EVENTS (Just as Nigel says).
