Hi Anthony,

Why would VFP have to be "gutted" to become a .NET player... just because some here say it wouod have to???
VFP is only programming. .NET is only programming. Both could be written to do exactly the same things, much like VB and C# do the same things.
Apparently Delphi didn't have to be gutted to make a .NET version. Apparently COBOL is available as a .NET version.

And there is the controversy out there that .NET is TOO WEAK at data access and the it needs some better capabilities in that area.

There are mysterious reasons at play here that make it MS' policy to grow .NET and starve VFP. We can all speculate as to what the reasons are, but anyone who says s/he knows is strictly guessing.
If Microsoft can write Office for MAC and write games that play on X-box and Windows then what's the REAL problem with making VFP one of the .NET 'languages'??? So far the only legitimate answer seems to be 'the desire to do so' and MS currently doesn't seem to have it.
