Well, it may be. My idea comes from the average over English-speaking people learning Spanish versus Spanish-speaking ones learning English. But then, it may be that *in general* English speakers has less compelling reasons to lear Spanish, qhile the other way is usually something considered high priority.

Also, for me has been always vey difficult to teach Spanish to non-Spanish speakers. Lots of past tenses, gender issues with varying rules, a great breadth of dialects, etc, tend to be quite difficult.

But, as Thomas said, it all depends also on each person. When you get to know Les Pinter well, for example, it seems that no language should be difficult to learn...
