1. You can install a DLL instead of an EXE
2. You can use Windows security that's automatically supported by COM+
3. If accessing databases, you can pool the connections
4. If needed, you can take advantage of the DTC
5. I've had nothing but problems trying to setup DCOM. It's MUCH easier to just install an MSI file on the workstation.
