Claudio - are you sure you've tried the smtp authentication route ?

also - a small test utilizing blat.dll from inside some internet cafe may be useful [or I can test it for you today or tommorrow - if you go that route - email me outside of UT]

You should at least be able to log [with blat] what the smtp communication errors are.
