I was willing to let this go...but I will not let your recent comments pass without a response.

First, I never said "I only for for money". I said "I do not work for free". There is a big difference. Don't you EVER do that again.

There was no discussion between myself and anyone else. While I don't wish to speak for the others to whom you're referring, it would not shock me if they felt I gave you more of my time and attention than I should. They'd be right...I have been far too patient with you.

I AM a .NET developer...and a VFP developer. I've built four .NET apps that are in production, and I participate on multiple .NET forums and have helped some others from time to time. I've worked in Fox and C since 1988, and have received five awards either at the national level or from Fortune 500 companies.

Those efforts and accomplishments are not going be taken away or diminished by loud-mouth, ignorant comments.

Your 'solution' is nothing but a toy, and a bad one at that.

It does not work well with anything other than small tables. Loading an entire DBF into a tree control is an entirely non-scalable approach, and is a clear indication of a novice/junior programmer. All I have to do is load 5,000 rows into the main table, and you fail your own challenge. Load 10,000 records and it gets worse. So one could reasonably conclude from your project that you don't work much with record selection. Maybe you can get away with tiny tables in your Mom and Pop shops, so I guess we're seeing the extent of your capabilities.

It does not coordinate editing with navigation, and therefore it's easy to lose changes and not realize until it's too late. Your database that stores a member's country stores it as a description instead of the key value. Your force the user to enter a primary key when adding a new member. I had to explain to my 'power user' how to add a record, because the interface does not make it clear.

Your so-called 'project' is a totally contrived example that only represents a lack of sophistication.

Again, there was nothing to be gained by taking this 'challenge'. If somewhere in your head you sincerely wanted to evaluate something honestly, your blatant biases were your own worst enemy.

And truthfully...given your level of dishonesty and immaturity, I don't think I'd WANT you as a proponent for .NET. This reminds me of an old MASH episode, when the North Koreans had 'captured' Frank Burns, and then let him go, shouting 'go back to your unit...it's the best thing you can do for us'.

I'm bowing out of this thread, and I stronly advise that you cease and desist as well. It's pretty obvious that no one ever taught you when to keep that mouth of yours shut.
