It seems a shame that people seize a single mistaken example and imply that that person has no idea.

Well, many of your fellow experts made a grave error about SQL injection last week, bagging VFP by claiming that protection from SQL Injection is more difficult than dotNET and rarely seen in the wild. Totally wrong. That remarkable mistake arose from a series of biases that are shared by quite a few of the shakers and movers.

Does that mean that these people have no right to express any further opinion or deserve to be scolded by you and need to be "hit with the clever stick" and all the rest of it?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
