Do you really hope to get a short answer on that philosophical question?

I'll try to answer this.

Because we're from different places.

Because we're from different backgrounds.

Because we're not speaking the same language. And this could cause at time (me included) to be misunderstood. And as a result this can lead to bad reactions that complicate things when things should be simple.

This one is from "The Sopranos". "It's the f*cking genes" ;-)

Because of Hidden agendas.

Because some always tell the truth and others always lie.

Because less and less persons are following the rules that should be followed in a responsible society. So this lead to a planet that slowly dies. This is a very complex situation because everbody needs to live and if it happens that your job is causing problems to someone else you won't stop doing it because it'll help others in the process. If you stop that job then you put yourself (and your family) in what could become a tough situation. We rarely see compensations to someone that stops a job that was being harmfull to others. So you don't really have a choice and have to continue doing that job. So the wheels turn.

Simple example: Smokers vs non-smokers. I'm a non-smoker so to me it's just logical to understand that with all the chemicals that goes into a cigarette they should be banned from the planet. But then smokers would probably have arguments to the contrary. Who holds the truth. I don't have a clue because I'm already way over my head with my day to day job. Where would I find the time to read, evaluate, analyse what I read on that subject. So I HAVE to respect as much as possible smokers and let them kill themself if that's what they want to do. You see that example is something really simple but it can lead to a very lenghty discussion. And we're speaking here about a simple topic. So it's easily understandable the debates that can get around on topics such as "War" in general, nuclear plants, acid rains, Ozone layer, quality of healtcare, Sweat shops, Salaries of athletes in major sports like Baseball, Politicians, abuse caused by stockholders...

There are probably a billion reasons why we don't get along I just gave you a very short list.

I think that this thread has the potential to become the longest "chat" thread ever <g>
