Pertti,

well, this is from his first blog entry: "My name is Andrew Conrad , I am a Software Design Engineer with the Sql Server group at Microsoft. For the past 4 years I have been working on the SqlXml product."

In other words, this is not a blog rumor; this is from the horse's mouth. (sigh)

>>What's really scary, though, is that MS has decided, according to a blog I read, that ObjectSpaces will be folded into WinFS, the new SQL-based file system. When I raised the issue of "doesn't this mean tie-in to a specific backend (namely, MSSQL)," the reply was they are aware of the issue and support for other backends is a priority "as we go forward." Which means, not right away.

>>This, IMHO, is the kiss of death for this technology. Perhaps not for developers working in isolation, but the kiss of death for vertical market products that can't have that kind of lock-in.
