NONE of my CD's from MSDN U state Windows 2000 NT.
Suggest you go with Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Seperate Machine ? what ? you had something else in mind ? like what ?

have you thought about webhosting INSTEAD of doing stuff with your own machine visible in your house ?
You never said, really, what kind of server you want.
Straight Windows Server
or http server with other cool stuff like some databases, scripting, etc etc.
take a look at

Going Forward -
if you have a dsl access point or a cable modem access point -
you can connect that into a router and do some things .
leave me a priv message HERE with a phone number and i'll be happy to map it out - save you about 20 000 keystrokes with a 4 minute phone call.
