I do not think that the code will work in Win 9x, as Win32_Process class requires Win Nt4 SP 4 at least.
About the systray, I think is just a refresh issue on the systray, and the icon will go away eventually (or if you put the mouse on the systray), but I do not know how to refresh it programatically, sorry
