It's a real pain. We've been testing this on and off for several weeks. Essentially the VB code has not been changed for a couple of months. We just have to do a lot of trial and error with the VFP code to pass the right parameters. All through this testing period we've only had a few times the code has hung and it was always when I was not on site.

It's only today when the client was running some tests without me being there, that he saw the connection to using Outlook. When I've been on site, he's not been looking at his email.

When the application gets finished it will probably run a few hours unattended once a week. If required, the client will run it overnight with Outlook disabled. However, I'd rather find a solution.

As far as logging tools, I have none. I wouldn't have a clue what to use.

Last time I needed any was years ago on a mainframe. I have nothing installed on the client site. I do most development offsite, if I need to change code when on-site I use gotoMyPc to get back to my development machine.

The code I'm using in VB is based on sample code from the supplier of the service and the activeX control - {Bloomberg stock prices}
