Luis,
First of all, thank you for the kind words, but I don't really feel they're necessary. I've never looked at myself as a < fill in the blank > programmer. Simply as a "programmer". For many years I've thought that programming wasn't about the language, but rather "solving the problem". I've found that when I start thinking in terms of the language, rather than the problem, it takes longer than it should. Once I've outlined the solution, using the language becomes almost a secondary part. IOW, what's the syntax and the functionality that this offers me?
As far as Powerbuilder is concerned, we're working with v. 6.5 which by no means is the latest and greatest.
Part of the problem with that environment is that we're using the PB PFC (Powerbuilder Foundation Classes). It can make things might tough. The IDE is terribly inconsistent. If you want to see a menu script it's completly different than finding a datawindow script.
Further, the "tools" they provide to track things down doesn't work as it should. IOW, if I search on a particular phrase, it may or may not be found, regardless of the current context.
George
